Ive got about 30 eggs this time! laid yesterday. Most of them were placed into a home made spawning mop.
So the waiting begins!!! :D
Ill keep you updated.
PS
my other 5 sterbai that hatched the other day are still going strong. B)

Congrats, again. Now I am very, very jealous :alien: I have two who love each other and don't swim anywhere in the tank without each other, but no eggs yet :( They are definitely a male and female, it's pretty obvious. Great to hear the fry are still doing well. Absolutely wonderful.

Hi a.i.m. How are those baby sterbai of yours doing? Have your eggs hatch yet? :D Got any pics of the little one's?? Keep well, Carmen

Well things have gone ok, ive set up a 38 ltr fry tank and have put all the fry in there. A couple have died but there must be close to 20 left. Ive been worried a bit as all they seem to do is huddle in the far corner, so today ive added 3 small plant pots to give them cover as the fry tank is bare bottom.
Also i carnt realy say that ive seen them eat? ive added micro worms every day! also bought a brine shrimp hatchery kit on sunday which doesnt seem to be going to plan.
Ive not got a didgy camera yet but is at the top of my most wanted list!!
What camera have you got carmen, those pics you posted of your new sterbai were awesum !!!

Hi There,

just read that you got some cory's that have spawned and you managed to get them to hatch, i got two cory albino's and they keep spawning up the side of the tank but then all the eggs get ate or dont hatch, can you tell me what i'm doing wrong as i'd love to have some that hatch.

Do i need to transfer them to a seperate tank???

Hi Choc 1

We moved the eggs to their own tank and hatched and grew them there. But only after the 5th time our corys spawned. We had them in breeding nets before then.

Hi a.i.m.

We tried the brine shrimp hatchery and it was a disaster. We got a really good make, but they just kept dying, so we've just stuck to microworms. Can you see any swimming around the tank? You don't have to put too many, just feed often, 3-4 times. They are still small, so it will be a while before you can actually see anyone eating.

My camera is just a normal one, Pentax Optio 30. 3.2Mp 3 x zoom. And oddly enough, the only way I can get good pics of the fish, is to set it on the food setting!!!
 I tried all of them, and the food setting was the best.

Keep well and best of luck with all the fry :D

when ive come home today ive lost 3 baby sterbai, ive done a water test and noticed my pH is high 7.6+
its higher than the parents tank which the eggs were hatched in (7.4) and also higher than my tap water which is about 7.2
i carnt quite work it out, so ive done a water change 50% done very slowly and has brought it down to about 7.4
should i add a small piece of bog wood to buffer the water?
