I have a 75 gallon reef tank that I am unhappy with. I want to tear it down, re-seed it with a different substrate, re-work my live rock into different formations, and scrape the hard to reach areas of the green algae that is almost like coraline algae (just tough, rough and you have to use a scrapper to get it off) its mostly behind the live rock, due to my algae blooms long ago.

I have my ro/di unit coming (well be in the 15th) My mudd filter has been on almost a month now. 2 175 watt halides and blue actinics. 5 powerheads ect. my problem is i have 19 various corals, ranging from mushrooms, hammer corals, zoos, ployps, xenia ect. is there really anyway to do this? can they survice in totes of water from the tank for a week? they will have powerheads ect? or should i just sell them all, redo what i want and start back over.

Do you have a lfs that could hold onto the corals for you? Maybe they could give you credit towards buying corals at their store if you want to start completely over and get rid of them.

I am using r/o water that I buy but my r/o unit will be here tuesday. as far as the lfs I havent asked about them holding them for me. About credit towards re-starting... they only give you a 1/3 of what they sell them for.. so basically its a rip off. would they be okay in totes for a few days?
