So I have got my 100 litre tank set up, gravel in the bottom, filter from another tank running, heater in! Would these fish be okay to cycle my tank?

- 5 tiger barbs
- 5 lemon tetras
- red finned black shark

??

If you have a filter from another tank in there (and providing it has sufficient beneficial bacteria in it) then you wouldn't need to 'cycle' your tank. Failing that, I would continue to carry out a fishless cycle by adding household ammonia and recording your results, posting them on here for peace of mind.
Best of luck.
Terry.

No fish is ok to cycle tank with and red fin sharks need a 4ft tank.

Then the chances are you have lost your beneficial bacteria. As was stated above, NO fish is suitable to cycle a tank. Although the temptation is there to look at your pretty coloured fish in your new tank, you really should spend some time reading up on fishless cycling, plenty of which information can be found in the beginners section.

I haven't and wasn't going to buy fish now, I hear of some people that Tapsafe will make the water safe for your fish and some people say it won't. So I was asking that question separately. I have read loads into cycling... Just a lot of different answers concerning Tapsafe that's all.

Are you on about safestart rather than tapsafe?

Safestart has mixed reviews, most believe it not to work.

IF you were going to do a fish in cycle (which is really bad for fish, I lost fish from a fish in cycle using artificial bacteria) I wouldn't put all of those fish in at once.
