starting at last

Well at last I can start phase 1, most of the equipment has now arrived I've cleaned the tank placed the ugf in "I intend to use it as a reverse flow" cleaned the gravel 2mm/-4mm size placed it on the ugf ,added the filter a Eheim 2233 not running yet, also the thermostat/heaters 2x100w not switch on, filled the tank to 1/3th full fitted the lights to the hood 1x Aqua-glo,1x life-glo,and 1x interterpet beauty light, but not switch on, now I think I'll leave it untill to-morrow and make sure every-think 'OK' the tank is 36"x18"x15" about 33 UK gal with all equipment ect, ect.

what fish are you planning on putting in your new tank. are you doing cycle with fish or without.

I've not yet decided on which type of fish, I think my wife will have a lot to say about which fish we have, I'm a bit apprehensive about the reverse flow under gravel filter wether to use it or not, any-way I'll decide in the next day or two as to keeping or remove it while the tank as so little water in it, Plants will be my main interest while my wife will see to the fish "these are our thoughts up to now"

Yay how exciting! Looking forward to seeing some pics hopefully sometime - and keep us posted on any fantastic plants you get, I'm currently thinking of renovating my tank and getting a whole new crop of plants in and would appreciate any tips!

Good luck with the new tank. You could try getting some livebearers or tetras in your new tank.
