Starting A Saltwater Tank

Again, do not necessarily need a skimmer on a 20G, but weekly water changes a must-- just more water to change!
Some difference,
- Twice the amount of LR
- Twice the amount of sand
- Different Light
- Couldn't find what you were going to do about powerheads with the 10G, but going with more than one powerhead generally decreases the chance of dead spots in the tank. As seffie said earlier, 10-15x flow would be great.

Well next weekend I will be diving into the salty side. I am planning on using my spare 10 gallon tank or my currently running 10 gallon FW tank. Today I discovered I have 2 male Mollies so I may need to keep both freshwater tanks running in the interest of keeping my female mollies happy. Either way I will be using US 10 Gallon tank. I intent I getting 7 pounds of LR for only $35 dollars! I will either be using a pebble substrate or non-live-sand sand. I will be using a hang-on-back filter rated for 20 gallons. I will break some live rock off to place inside to help filtering. I will also be purchasing a test kit and hydrometer. The lighting will be rated a 2.6 watts per gallon so the LR should have no problem growing. I hope I am not missing any other crucial items for this conversion!

Looking forward to seeing your progress :good: instead of the hydrometer get a refractometer
