I recently got a empty glass tank, its about 20 usgals

I haven't decided what its going to be in it, but i know it will be freshwater
I was thinking of either a community with tetras, guppies, and other small fish, and MAYBE live plants, but most likely not live, also it depends on what my LFS has

If i go with the community tank, it will be basicly expanding my 10 gal tank (with tetras, guppies, and danios) into this tank

I have the HOB filter it came with (a topfin 20 with the stock media) and lights (not sure what type, but its only one bulb) i also have an extra Whisper 10, and Elite Mini internal filter. Also i have a topfin 10 in a tank im using right now, but i MIGHT be taking this tank down.

I have a lot of extra rocks, decor, and fake plants. Also some black and white pebble gravel

What i wanted to know was is their anythign else I will need?
Also if you could recommend some other stocking choices. And what would go nice with a shoal of tetras

goldfish 55 gallons at least, they are also cold water fish the rest of the fish you want are warm water.
i also like khuli's a lot they are snake like and hide during the day, they don't produce much of a bio load either there good in groups up to 3 or more. the more you get the more active they become.

Yea i was planing on putting them together
and i guess goldfish are out anyways

What should my tank be set up like for khuli loaches? substrate, decor, plants, rocks? equipment? food? how to take care of them? ect.

How many is my max?

can i/should i have any other fish with them? will there be feeding issues? would a shoal of tetras be ok, and not steal all their food?

also i would still like some other options just incase my dad doesnt like kuhli loaches

EDIT: my dad does like them, BUT we have to see if my LFS has them =[ and i kind of doubt that, so i still need other options

You should forget about coldwater goldfish with a 15 gallon seriously. I dont know what you like but tropical community is really the best way to go with a tank that size, you can get various small catfish, livebearers, tetra and dwarf cichlids. All peaceful and easy to look after. All you need is a filter, heater, Lights and tank. Also be sure to read up on fishless//fish-in cycling, which ever you decide to do...

i could have all of those in my tank?

what type of carfish is a "small catfish"?

and what type of dwarf cichlid?

agian, its about my LFS so when i go to the petstore ill make a list of some fish

and yea i've done cycling before, as long as its the same as cycling a saltwater tank?

Not being Ace Of Spades, Nor influenced by opinions of a so called "Ace Of Spades", I can give you this valuble information.

Cycling in FW is much different from Salt, I suggest you read the pinned topic mate.

Corydoras are small catfish, shoal together and look awesome!....

Dwarf Cichlids are: Any Type of Rams, Keyhole Cichlids, Kribs, Apisto

o ok, thanks and i will

i thought about corys, i rather not have corys and kuhlis though

and i wanted rams but im 99% sure my LFS wont be selling them, if they do im deffinitly going to get them

i have both khuli and cories, both are fun to watch. i see no reason you can't get both.

its not that i cant, i just rather have only one bottom dwelling shoal, its just me, also their isn't a lot of LxW space, mostly H in this tank

ill probably have to get corys because i know my LFS has them and ive never seen kuhlis anyways

and if they have both, my dad will choose

hiya big!

basically, im starting my fishless cycle soon for my 200L tank and the first species of fish i want to put in is 6 albino corys. there just amazin! okay, so for corys, ur substrate should be sand or fine gravel (i have fine gravel coz the sand somehow manages to get into my filters and block the pumps), there not to picky on plants but you must provide with somewhere to (as a refuge) now and then, maybe a cave, log or a home made hide out made out of slate/stone. hope u find this helpfull

ryan

tetras will me fine but remember, tetras need an established tank so i'd wait a couple of months before adding these iN! :)

depends on species,

go with sand and plants for cories, and a few caves, i dont know how sand would get into your filter  ive never had a problem.

a shoal of 10 glowlight tetras and 6 cories would look good, with maybe a pair of gouramis a few months down the line, just remember to cycle

I found out that my tank is 20 us gals
