Starting A New Tank Bump Start?

ok i am getting my new tank tomorrow and i was going to use the current filter, heater, gravel etc that is coming with it so i could keep the fish, but i've manage to sell the lot and now looking at completley starting from scratch.

my water is ready as we speak to go in tho i know i probably could have put this in on the day, i have a brand new external filter (ex1200), its a 140litre tank and i have an external heater (hydor 300w brand new).

is there anyway of kick starting the cycle with a shop bought product or should i go down the cycle route adding ammonia, i'm going to have to get this from ebay i think if so delaying it for a few days.

gravel has been washed, bogwood prepared, new air pump with air stones ready, went to local fish shop before and he said they sell something which kick starts it but they are out of stock, can't remember what its called but am i just best using ammonia and is there something i should be reading.

i dont wana balls up on this, its new and im new to it all also.

i was going to use the current internal items at the same time as my new external items but decided to not do that now (last minute as always)!

so you have an already established/cycled internal filter? If so, that will work nicely for getting the new external up and running.

what interal and external filters are they?

hi zoddy, yeh its an internal heater and filter running currently i have a new external filter and heater mate but was guna start completley new.

no idea make and model on current, but my new external is tetratec ex1200 and hydor 300w which fits perfectly onto it

ive no idea what media etc is really so i was just guna run with new lot and put away the exsisting items. or can you advise me in anyway what i should do? i was guna use new gravel as the old one she has is naff looking
