Ah ha, so your journey begins :good: what are your plans for the tank?

Seffie x

ps can I ask a big favour of you - your avator is funny but children including my granddaughter come on here, is there any chance you could choose something a little more suitable?

Thank you GW, I appreciate that :good:

Now tell us all about your plans - is the Mandy in your avator a clue?

Hello and welcome to the salty side

Like seffie says the tank will be fine for now without a skimmer, when your tank has cycled the live rock will be the main biological filter and it should be able to cope with a few small editions in live stock.{CUC} shrimp ect. So I would recommend you get your tank set up and running then you can look at buying a skimmer please don’t take this the wrong way but this is one piece of equipment you don’t want to skimp on, it will perhaps be the most important item you will buy the skimmer helps remove waste before it can decompose into ammonia and this helps lighten the load on the rest of your filter so I would always say buy the best one you can, I don’t know about the USA but here in the uk there is a very good site with a classified section and I picked up my skimmer at a fraction of the cost of new, second hand is the way to go in this hobby, try flebay…

I've been having setbacks too, you're farther than I am! Just about everything has happened to my tank, including it cracking.
