Star wars is ok, but still only an average film in my books, If you were to add the cartoon series "EWOKS" then id have to vote that, but as you didnt I voted starwars as thats where the EWOKs come from

Which start trek are we talking about. There are so many of them. You have the original Captain Kirk who would sleep with any alien he came across, and he still does that on Boston Legal. You have DS9, Voyager, Enterprise, Next Gen, and the list goes on. There is also Babylon 5.

As for star Wars, they are pretty good movies but I thought they cut too much out of the first few episodes. Especially the one where Anikan becomes Darth Vader. At the end he goes up against Obie One and loses and is saved but the whole process of getting his legs chopped off to becoming Darth Vader takes only a few minutes. It would have been nice if they made the film longer and included a lot more detail about him becoming the Dark Lord.
The same applies to him getting married to Queen Armadalla (not sure about the spelling). They get married and it's all over in a moment. Now I’m not a wedding fan but it would have been nice to see a bit more detail and storyline leading up to the wedding instead of just a few seconds of clips.
Spielberg should make a full length movie that goes into it in more detail and is a genuine directors cut and not chopped to pieces so it only takes an hour and a half. Do what they did with Lord of the Rings and make the damn thing go for 3 hours. Sell it as a special Hi-def movie so you can watch it at home and take pit stops whenever you need to.

Colin, the whole first three episodes are about Anakin turning into Vader. The mental transformation is much more drawn out and when he fights obie wan, the only transition left is his physical appearance.... as his psychological character is already set before he starts fighting on mustaphar. Starts with him being impatient with his training... then his mother is killed by sand people.... then he is denied the rank of master though he sits on the council and has a little hissy fit.... then keeps having dreams about padamay dieing so gets tempted by the emperor and corrupted by the dark side... to the where he defends the emperor and basically causes mace windoos death.... then the slayings of the jedi temple and killing of the speratists.... then he feels betrayed by padamay and almost chokes her to death... then feels betrayed by his best friend.... all this gives him so much hate that he blinded by everything except his hate and lust for power...

I do believe Lucas was stupid to change the original three episodes... they were awesome the way they were. And I really never got how amadalla looks like she never aged at all and anakin looks like he grows 20 yrs over that same time....

Are we talking Star Trek films or series here? If series, how can you compare a series to a movie? As for the star trek movie, you'll only fully appreciate it if you've followed the series. So I can't really compare that at all.

Either way, my answer would be Star Trek. Unlike most people here, I can not stand Star Wars. And I just *adore* most of Star Trek. I can't watch the original nor Enterprise. But I *love* The Next Generation & Voyager. Next on my list will be Deep Space Nine. I used to watch 2 episodes every night before going to bed =P Great way of getting through the series.
