Hi
I am setting up my30 gallon tank and have set it up on a stand. In some parts of the tank I can fit a peice of plastic under it between the stand and tank. The peice of plastic is the plastic from a plant marker that has the plant name on it. There are 4 spots. A couple by the back corners.

Can I put something on the stand for the aquarium to sit on top of?

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your time

:hi:

If I'm understanding you correctly, the tank isn't sitting flat on the stand, right? First, hopefully the stand is what's not flat. If the tank itself is askew, there could be problems with it. You might try cutting a piece of something that's the same dimensions of the tank, and place it underneath it. I'm thinking of those sheets of stuff used for packaging. Not bubble wrap, not styrofoam. The stuff I'm thinking of is plastic, whitish in color, and flexible. Or very thin foam rubber would work too. Does that make any sense at all?? :hyper:

Hope this helps!

That makes sense. The top is a little uneven to the feel. I was thinking of insulation styrofoam. I'll go shopping today at the hardware store and see what I can find.

Thanks for the help.

Look for those thin ploystireine (spelling) ceiling tiles. They are ideal and as 12x12 inch is a popular size for them they are ideal.

Well, I got the polystyrene. Placed it on the stand. The spaces are still there. I'm guessing this means the tank has issues. I've had it up and full twice in the last week for a total of 4 days. No leaks but I guess it's just a matter of time.

Does this mean the tank needs repair or is it still like this because the foam doesn't have the full load of all the water and gravel? I figured because the top of the foam is flat that it should sit evenly.

P.S the spots where the spaces are is at the back two corners.
