So I have a 20gallon that I would like to make a stand for, but have this stand be good to go when I feel like switching it out for the 30.

The dimensions of the 20 are (WxHxL) 12x12x30 and the dimensions of the 30 are 12x16x36.

The idea was to make a stand that is more of a large cabinet in which to store fish and other pet items, since I doubt most regular (read as cheap newer) cabinets/dressers can support 300 lbs over time. I was thinking of a box that had a flat top dimension of 36x16, and was 36 inches tall, out of 2x2 or 3x3 pieces of wood, and then wrapping it in plywood and finishing in pine. Seems kind of tall and skinny to me... and I worry that 300 lbs perched 3 feet up could spell disaster. Thoughts? Perhaps deeper? Thanks!
