my angel fishs fins sometimes split, but today i woke up and they were fine i came home later and the bottom fin is like split and jaggy, is this fin rot or a bacteria problem -_-

It could be fin rot if thats the case then you need mela fix (i think) someone has a pinned thread on the forum re meds. Very good advice.

The other alternative is munchy fish. It does depend on what other fish you have in with them. You may have some fin nippers.

*EDIT* Just found the thread. It is pinned in this section. I don't know where you are based but the thread relates to US meds but you will get the general idea from it.

I think it just might be the turbulence of your filter, creating a current. I know what your talking about because this happened to my guppys really big and nice tails. They're not bit, kinda like a tear though. In which case, i dont think its a problem. Could you get a pic up to be sure?

Need to know ammonia, nitrite, nitrat and pH levels. Also, how big is the tank, and what other fish are in the tank?

it is a 200 l tank and all my fish are kind and the angels rule the tank anyway

you really need to learn to answer peoples questions better.
we can not help you if you don't tell us what we need to know.
I'm sad to say if you continue down the same road that you are on,
many people will give up even opening your posts let alone trying to help you.

So with that in mind
what are your water parameters?
that means you need to test, or get tested, your water for
ammonia, nitrItes, nitrAtes at the very least.

Split fins are normally caused by fin nipping tank mates. Fin rot shows up more as erosion of the fin and fluffy stuff on the fin.

What other fish have you got in the tank ?

and

Are there any other signs ? rapid breathing, fluffy stuff, water quality problems ?

i have no other fish in the tank that would nip at my angels, i think it is a bacteria problem, so i am going to treat my tank soon

Angels will nip other angels. It's usually a territory or pairing situation. How old are the angels, and what size tank are they in?

When people diagnose problems with fish, you can never have too much information. That is the reason people ask for specifics, such as what type of fish are tankmates, and results of water tests.

Split/torn fins on angels due to nipping don't require much more than plenty of water changes, and perhaps some melafix. I've had angels with half their fins shredded in pairing situations, and heal just fine with only that.

the angels are quiet old and have been together for a long time, o and another thing sometimes my platinum angel sometimes has fits and the other one comes and pecs at it

I see you still havn't answered the water parameter question :/

i have not had the time to check them any way what have they got to do with the splitting fins
