I've buying a 5 gal tank tomorrow and have had advice to split the tank and get 2 male bettas. Is it possible to split the tank (maybe not in the middle) and have a male betta on one side and some guppies on the other?
If so how many guppies would be suitable?
Thanks

Ps I really am going to get a tank tomorrow! And I'm sooo excitied! It seems to have taken me forever to decide on anything!

I would stick with splitting it equal for 2 bettas as its not really big enough for guppies

Let us know what you get and post some pics :D

Are there any other fish that may be suitable in the other side of the split tank?

Alternatively you could leave it as one big tank and have some otos or dwarf cories in there. :)

I definately like the sound of having some otos in there. How many do you think would fit?
Cheers,
Phil

2-3 ottos would be fine, as they don't produce a whole lot of waste.
