I have two bettas. My veil tailed sits on my office desk at work and my plakat sits at home on the kitchen counter.. I've noticed that my veil tailed is much more agressive at flaring and trying to break through the glass that my plakat.. Every time I move my hand towards his tank, he goes nuts and starts flaring and going crazy, but my plakat on the other hand is pretty docile.. The most he does is get excited every now and then when I drop him some food. Why the different temperments? Does it have anything to do with the type of betta? What are your experiences? =)

BTW~ I'm not sure, but is this even a good comparison? Should I have said veil tailed vs double tailed instead? Are they both splendins? I'm still a newb, obviously. =)

They are both splendins, FYI. Also it's probably something to do with personality difference. Just like some people have more moxee than others.

Yup, veiltails, crowntails, double tails, plakats and half-moons are betta splendens.
Some bettas just have too much attitude.

I have a blue CT that will only flare at another blue colored betta. Show him another color and he'd just sulk in one corner of the tank.
