EDIT
Please forget about this post guys.

Just went to check on him and he was dead :-(

Looks good, I can't wait until my three arrive. :)

I couldn't be more sorry! I wonder what went wrong. How long had you had him at home? Sounds like the poor guy wasn't right from the lfs.

I don't know what went wrong myself, he'd only been here just over 2 hours :-(

if it was to do with my water would it have killed him that quickly? (saying that... I only cleaned the tank on Thursday so the water can't be THAT bad)

EDIT
I just remembered he got really stressed when they tried catching him, then it was a 1 hour bumpy car ride home. Could the stress from the capture and journey have done it?

You bet it can... If he were mine I'd contact the lfs and ask for a replacement but make darn sure that your tank was ok first :D
Again, I'm so sorry...

I'm sorry that's really sad. He looked lovely :byebye:

Definitely worth telling the lfs though, I agree.

I asked the lfs and they told me it was fresh.
I swear, I must have asked that guy about 50 questions before handing my money over.

Sorry about the incident ladynaoko, I had owned 3 spiny eels but they all died on me, 1 because I didn't know cycling, 2 because It was bought sick and 3 because we had a blackout. Spiny eels (peacock especially) are very weak fish.
