Hey y'all,
So I have this catfish and am trying to figure out what species he is. He's been living in a tank at my mom's work for the last few years, and recently came back to me. I got him way back in middle school and am now in college, so he's at least 7 or 8 years old. My mom says he's a "cory catfish", and I'm pretty sure that's what we purchased him as, but I'm not sure of that. He looks like one to me shape-wise, but is huge at around 4 inches long. Everywhere I've read online says they only grow to around 3" at the most, so I'm kind of confused!! I'm hoping to figure out what he is to possibly get him a friend of the same species/size, as he's very shy and I feel bad he doesn't have a school.

Possibly a yoyo loach but another member maybe able to confirm what specie it is.
my mom and memory were very wrong
