Spawning Tank

Hey guys...another question..

I'm going to start breeding my crowns in August. I know this is pretty far in advance, but I want to be totally prepared when I start breeding.

After conditioning, when I put the pair together to spawn, what size tank should they be in? This will also be the tank that the fry grow in, am I correct?

40 gal is the recommended size under the breeding topic.

i use a 10g for breeding, and a 20g for growout. iv heard for a spawn of 20 a 10g growout is ok but thats a load of crap and a betta spawn is rarely under 50 fish

I just thought of something else...should the spawning and gorwout tanks have hoodlights?
