Spawning Pr.

Basically I went with a smaller container and less plants for hiding. I've seen several posts on other boards where they said it worked for a pr that would not spawn. It was a great success, except for infertile eggs. The big thing was how I done it. I came up with my own idea on what to try, to have the water heated and letting the female see the male without being nipped for awhile. Here's a pic. It speaks for itself. Male is in 2.5, and the female is outside in the 10. I have 2 more prs. in this way, and they love it. Biggest drawback is removing the female after they spawn without disturbing the male.

My orange pr spawned today. I really like the 2.5 in the 10 gal. I have stuggled all summer to spawn, and have had 2 pr spawn this way this past week. Another pr is in the other 2.5 and they are acting real friendly.

The red cambo pr spawned. Hope I get some fry from it. There is only about half as many eggs in this nest as is in the orange spawn.

congrats Fisher!! Glad to hear you've found a way that works for you. Once again, this shows there's no ONE right way to spawn Bettas, different things work for different people and their fish.
