I just got 3 sparkling gouramis and added them to a tank housing 4 bumblebee gobys and when i woke up the first morning one of my gouramis had a big bite out of its tail. i thought it came from one of the other gouramis (the biggest one chases the small ones some) but this morning the bigger sparkling gourami has a bite out of his fin.

so im wondering if you guys think that it could be a gobys biting the gouramis, or the gouramis fighting each other. i have another tank, but i need to know who to separate.

another interesting thing: they only seem to get hurt at night. dont know if that helps or not.

also, will the tail on my sparkling gourami grow back?

please help!

It's most likely the Gourami's going after each other. I've heard Sparkling Gourami's are quite fiesty. The gobys shouldn't be the ones doing it. From what I have observed with mine and understand they are peaceful and mine always hang to themselves.

The tail should grow back. I'd add some kind of stress coat product to help.

iv 6 bummblebee gobys in a community tank and no problem with them with other fish they keep themselfs to themself they will chase each other but never seen them chasing any other fish in the tank let alone nip at them so i dont think it will be them
