Sourcing Rare Fish

Right, im trying to find some dwarf puffers, ive asked around the local shops, looked online, looked in classifieds i have my heart set on some, whats my next best bet? phone every shop withing 100miles? how long would they be ok for in bags being transported?

can none of the maidenhead stores get them in for you?

I was going to say that I can get them in at work, but thats still a 2.5 to 3 hour drive away so probably not much help

You have to buy in bulk i think he sells like 15 dwarf puffers for £20 inc delivery but dwarfs are best on there own so only buy them bulk if you have a place to sell or give the rest to

^the south American one? that says they can grow to 7cm, which isnt a dwarf puffer as they only grow to 3-4cm....

or do think i could get 2 of those?

Instead of ringing around to see if they want any from you, make the same calls and tell them you are interested. A sure sale is something most LFS are happy to find. There are staples in every fish store that they sell n huge numbers but most bring in a few tanks full of unusual fish to provide some variety. When they have an idea of what people are looking for, they will often try ordering that at least once. After the novelty is gone, the fish sometimes stop selling and the shops try something else, but they are always looking for suggestions on what unusual fish to try out.

They had dwarf puffers and figure of eight puffers in Billericay aquatics today, too far for you but this store had a fairly limited range of fish so there is hoep even in the smaller stores.

Like Truck says maybe they would be interested in getting 15 in if they knew they could sell 3 straight away, you might pay a little more but if it gets what you are after.

My son is keen on these there the only thing other than barbs he talks about!!
