PC will suddenly not let me play music on Media Player or I-Tunes saying "there is no sound device" and the little icon at right hand bottom corner where you click and "volume" appears is gone!!!

Cant find anything on google or windows website that specifically helps me about it.

Did read somewhere but lost it now that the sound device can be compromised if the printer is running at the same time or something? Well, in terms of the USB ports at the back i did plug in my webcam earlier and since then no sound!!!

Taken webcam out and re-booted but no joy.

Apparently i might need to download and install another sound device? but i can't work out how to and what the devil happened to my original sound device?

I have Windows XP

Thanks

While I am not great with computers....Is the sound card alright how old? Check the install devices which is on the add or remove programs page...have you opened up the computer case for awhile maybe the sound card has shifted
