Sorry But Is This Possible?

Snake, let's just put this on the table.....

you do not own a 200g tank.

There, it's out in the open now!

I do understand your reasons for saying you do (you probably got bashed a little bit because your current stocking was not suitable for your tank size???) and it can be hard to admit mistakes. However, it appears that you are desperately trying to find a suitable home for your fish, which is to be commended! Saying that, if you keep up the pretense that you own the 200g (with no proof), others will still refer back to that when you start asking about other tanks and advice for stocking. If you can simply discard the 200g comments, then people will be much more willing to help you out with your requests.

However.....if you have pics of the 200g, I humbly stand corrected!

I keep changing my mind about stocking, im getting so confused.
Sorry for another stocking question.

Ive decided on going for a 4ft 48x18x24 75g with a tetratec ex1200

I was going to go with this -

1 Senegal Bichir
15 Serpae Tetres
2 Firemouth
2 Blue Acara
1 Convict
15 Cory (NOT SURE ON TYPE YET)

Is this ok?
isit overstocking?

What would you do if you had this tank?

Snake007 - we all change our minds about stocking so good to ask. I don't think the above would work for reasons already suggested, and I think in a tank that size you could do something a bit more interesting IMO.

How about rainbowfish? Boesemani and Reds are great, or maybe Westerns too. A good number of those would give you a lot of colour and activity - if you ever get to central London, check out aquatic design centres rainbow fish show tank in the window - heavily planted and a great centrepiece. They are also docile enough to be mixed with others, and big enough not to become food for the bichir. In large numbers Colombian tetras and Bleeding Hearts also make a spectacular display and are deeper bodied than serpaes so worth looking into.

You could then have maybe a small group of one of the smaller species of geos as an interesting centrepiece. With that mix, a trio of pictus cats for the bottom would finish it nicely - a lot of activity and colour.

I'm biased but would go for Colombian/Bleeding Hearts, Pictus Catfish and then a trio of something like Geo. Pindare or a single mid-sized SA cichlid. It's a community tank, but not your average community setup. Not sure how that would work with your current fish, but unsure about what tanks you've actually got running/not running at the moment - I think that's why we are all waiting for pics!!

Nick

EDIT: This came after ZZ's call for pics - but agreed - no-one can really help until we know what other tanks are actually available to you..?
