can you post a picture of the tank?

we can offer input on your current setup or advise you on a better setup (if needed) for a sorority tank. You will spike the bioload with the addition of all those females, so do 25% water changes ever other day..... unless u are monitoromh water stats and adjusting accordingly (hard to do).

Here is the tank set up....does this look ok to yall?

If you could add more caves and things for the bettas to hide in, I'm sure they'd love it. The more caves and plants, the better so they can be alone if they want to be. The more you break up the line-of-sight, the happier they will be.

yeah more caves, and plants will be good. also have you got a background on the tank?

There isn't much room left for another cave or plant really because I want some open swim area for them

You could rearrange it some.. put some taller plants in the center and have an open area in the front left and front right, add some ornaments that they can actually swim inside of. They love LOTS of little nooks and crannies to get into and explore.

Here are some pictures. This is the type of cover that your bettas will like to have in their home. Lots of places to explore and things to swim through

I know its just I don't have the money to make my tank look like those lol, and its only a 10 gallon tank

To be honest... you don't have to go buy fancy stuff.. Things like resin plant pots work great... or even some extra coffee mugs. Anything they can swim in and explore, they would like. Have any empty plastic fish food containers? You can get the label off and weigh the container down on its side with some gravel.

Well to be honest I'm kinda one of those people who is obsessed with a theme and I don't want to stray away from a pirate theme by adding a small planting pot "which I do have". Idk not that I don't want my bettas to be happy but I also want to be happy with seeing what I've put together, but i think I'm going to add more plants, more with different heights.

Anyways I'll update you all with what going on with my ladies. So I think they have established the pecking order finally. I know its only been 3 days but I think they have decided "for now". There are a few ripped fins and one or two chunks taken out, but I think the one that has the chunks taken out is the leader. She doesn't take crap form the others lol. I added the fifth girl and their all doing good. they are all feeding well and no hogging of food, and I think I'm starting to understand their personalities. The white one actually likes me to touch her. She swims to my finger every time I put it in there. The crown tail is really shy and hides in the back. The red one is the leader and is always all over the other girls. Then the huge fatty just swims and scavenges for food, and the last one is kinda forgettable, like she doesn;t do much but look cute like the rest of them. I love this sorority!

Can be interesting with female bettas. I'm sure everyone has had different experiences. I have 3 currently in a 40g tank. Lots of room for each of them but occasionally they do some nipping. It's kinda bound to happen when you're dealing with female bettas. Just make sure nobody is getting too stressed out.
