well, that was a while ago tbh, i have calmed down a bit now, imo she was worth less than the phone, (pennies), but now i have found a gal that worth a million so im chuffed!

Wouldn't touch sony erricson phones with a barge pole, they are all hype with no follow up. The speakers are crap, the cameras are really poor and that's before you get to switching on and off problems.
Don't go to ebay looking for phones, I know of about a dozen people who have been stung buying phones on there, they are either on contract and not been paid so blocked or stolen and blocked or just knackered.

i would never buy a phone of ebay, anything for that matter, the way ebay is run is hourendous, anyway i bought an ericson c905, 8.1 meg camera and walkman

Phone choice is personal you need to go to phone shop try a few out?
Regarding budget, are you on contract? Every year (I am with Orange) I first look for the phone I want (Not hard for me as I am a Windows Mobile convert) and find other contracts that offer the phone I want with similar or more minutes etc... I then ring Orange Retentions and have a VERY polite chat with them I don't go on about my 10 years with them etc I just tell them what I have seen and ask what they can do to match or better it... If they are not playing ball then tell them you will ring back at another time and you might get a better operator on another day (they may have met quoter that week).
If you pee them off they will send you a PAK and you will be stuffed regarding better deal so tread careful.
Anyway, what I am trying to say if you are on contract you don't need to pay a penny to not only get more minutes but a pretty smart phone too! Windows mobile phones were so far ahead of their time they were playing pretty much all windows files (wma wmv mp3 divx) for 3 or more years well before all the music phones and they look smarter than ever these days but they need some messing to get the best out of them and cameras tend to be poor. Saying that with loads of software there is little you can't do on them - I use mine to listen to internet radio over wifi I can even do youtube / skype (which isn't perfect but does work!) etc no probs Although I wouldn't use data connections with these!

I'd recommend a nokia 5310 comes with music. Its a great music phone and it comes with unlimited music downloads for you to keep forever at no extra charge.

and its likely to break when you sneeze .Whilst it is not normally my living, i repair a lot of mobile phones, software and hardware. things have improved, but SE don't survive well with just normal use, never mind heavy! they are, however, great bits of tech,. just not very sturdy tech.Similar threads
