Somthing For The Bottom?

would 2 or 3 Pimelodus pictus work?
Yeah. i would go for at least 3 though. Or you could go for one of the bigger types like Pimelodus blochii or Pimelodus ornatus.
i thought a few smaller fish would look nicer than a single specimen?
Its up to you. if it was me i would go for one of the bigger pims. Im looking for a Ornatus for my 566L or if not a jaguar catfish.

Depending on the size of the Tetras I would not put Pictus cats in the tank as they are predatious.

Why were the Jurapari struggling ? Were they being bullied by the GT.
It might be best to remove the GT and try them again. They are stunning fish.
How many had you got anyway? They dont do well on their own and are best kept in groups like most Geophagus species,
although they are in the Satanoperco genus now.

The tetras are just over an inch now.

i dont know why the Jurapari were struggling (I had 4)the GT didnt really pay any intrest to them. one just sat at the bottom in the same place while the others were fine so i put it in a Q tank and it died after about 3 days then another did the same then another so i returned them here is a video of what they were doing. It was odd.

The fish looked like he was struggling to breed.
It could have been from pH shock. Did you take your time to acclimatise them.

What size where they? All the shops near me do them at about 3" for £10 which i think is about average.

They do shot up in price for big ones but that does sound a little pricey to me. For that price i would prefer to get one of the bigger rarer types.
