No need to unplug it to turn it off. There is a button to turn off the microphones right on the unit.

I have a Ford Ranger the other day the engine warning light came on. I thought oh ****. Goggled reasons why it would come on, one of the reasons was loose diesel fill cap. I had a look sure enough I hadn't put the cap on properly after my last fill. Tightened the cap and the light went out. I wonder if I had taken the vehicle to a garage what they would have come up with. I love Google sometimes.
Oh but never google up fish facts its all false... Just sayin lol

Oh no no no... People have found that the microphone sometimes stays on when you turn it off

We have two alexas in my house. They remain unplugged unless I'm playing music on them.

Once we were talking about the government(nothing bad of course lol) when she suddenly said: "I don't I was supposed to hear that". I kinda freaked out because no one was saying anything that sounded remotely close to the wake word.

The other day my uncles Alexa randomly said: "I can call an ambulance and help if you want"

That is pretty crazy though

our car had the “check engine” light turn on. We checked the gas cap, sure enough it was open. We fixed it and the light is still on.

If you have a phone, “big brother” is already listening. If it has a mic, they can hear you.

I’ve already accepted that fact so I don’t care about using google.
