Diva is the one I posted about the other day that had something really long and white hanging from her, which we now think was poo because it's gone. However, she has been getting increasingly lethargic. I saw her this morning... she seems to be okay swimming, but she just lays on the bottem, and when she lays there, she lays with her tail straight up in the air. She's also refusing to eat. I can't figure out what's wrong with her, unless it's that she's eggbound. Her belly is rather big. There's no pineconing, and all the other girls are fine, so I'm pretty sure it's not dropsy. I isolated her to be on the safe side, though. She's hanging out at the top and swimming around a bit, but she's still not moving around as much as usual, and still won't eat.

She's a pastel lavender with a silver face, but the last day or two I have been noticing that her belly is looking a little pink, which was not the case before.

Any ideas about what could be going wrong?

Well, I do think it's eggs... I put her next to one of my male's tanks, and she got a little more active, though still not up to normal, and she has breeding bars. Is there anything more I can do for her?

And, poor Lawan, ever since I took Diva out of the tank, she's had terrible stress stripes and has been scouring the bottom looking for her. They are the two smallest ones, and always together.

I hope she will be OK. I am going away next week for 7 days havent told my fish...I cant get anyone that I trust to feed them. so I will make sure they have clean water. real plants and cross my fingers.

She's most definitely eggbound. Her breeding bars are even heavier, and she starting to have a little trouble swimming. I'm getting ready to give her an epsom salt bath... I hope it helps her. :/

damn. In the time it took for me to get her epsom salt bath ready, she died. :(

Too bad about your girlie. Sorry for your loss. :-( I'll be down in West Central IL tomorrow and will say hi to it for you. Chin up.

West central, really? Whereabouts? I used to live near Springfield. :)

Thanks for the condolennces, all. I went to PetCo to get stuff for her, and I ended up also picking up a snail. He's a character, so having him has helped a little. My fiance named him The Professor.

 The Professor. Too cute. I'll be going southwest of Rock Island out in the boonies someplace just south of Illinois City. I got so lost in Rock Island last night I don't even want to think about it. Geez they never heard of road signs around there. :grr:   I live in Northern Il so it's about a 2 1/2 hour drive. I used to talk to Springfield about everyday on the phone at their call center for my last job. Been there on vacation for Lincoln stuff. New library there but haven't been yet. Where are you living now? Bet you miss mountainous IL.

Aww that is so sad sweetie, my little girl

Well I know she had a good home with you, it seems nothing could be done for her. Such a beautiful and unusual color she was too!

Hugs, Fawn
