Please help. Ive just noticed this, this morning. I dont know whether or not he got into a fight or if it's an infection, as the eye is swollen and has a white spot in the middle, may be a cataract??

From the second pic, its looks like popeye. My RTBS had this and i did a 30% water change and treated the tank with anti bacterial meds. It cleared up in a couple of days and he was back to normal. Apparently the fish can lose sight in the eye affected but i'm pretty certain my RTBS didn't from his behaviour.

Hope this helps

Im no expert on your fish so i couldn't say wether any were a threat to it, but have you got your recent ammonia, nitrate and nitrites stats and can you post them to us :) ?
Cloudy eyes can often be brought on by less than great water quality or chemicals in the water that may irritate them like lack or or too much dechlorintor. The white lump looks like fungus but it is so large it gives the impression of pop eye, its difficult to tell from the pic.
Check out pop eye and cloudy eye on this link and tell me if your fish's conditions looks similar to the 2 as its a bit difficult to say myself from the pic;

Thanks Pheonix, it does look more like Cloudy Eye, I'll do some tests and a water change and see where we go from here. It does say that it will clear up on its own, which is a blessing

please test water cloudy eye can be caused through poor water quality, stress, irratation, old age, and bad diet, it's a symtom rather than a desease in it's self.
