I have a 10 gallon tank with 3 guppies, 2 head and tail light tetras, 3 black skirt tetras, 1 procostomous, and 2 swords in it.
My water is PH 6.6
Alkalinity 40
Hardness 75
Nitrite 0
nitrate 40
Ammonia 0
I did a 15% water change last night to lower the nitrate and it is not going down.
I noticed a few days ago that 1 of my guppies had a white spot on her lip, i put her in isolation to keep an eye on her to see if the symptoms worsened. Her lip is now starting to look like it is being eaten away. It is kind of white looking and looks sort of like peeling skin. She is refusing food, and is very pregnant. I need an idea of what it is and how to treat it. She should be delivering in a few days as that is her 28 day cycle, so i would like to treat her with something that will not kill the fry if they come out during treatment.
I also noticed that the other guppies that are in my main tank are showing signs of the same thing she has. They have started with dots on their lips also, and although they are eating, they are mostly staying on the top of the tank and not really swimming. I really need your help so that i do not lose all of them with whatever this is. Please help. Sandy
