Hey guys
Having recently had a conversation about my gold spot plec chasing my 2 juvenile parrot fish (who are going to be too big for my 120litre tank anyway) I think I am going to end up finding them a new home :(
So what can I get to replace them? :) Something cool/colourful ideally ... I have 3 peppered corydoras, 1 harlequin rasbora (his shoal got really old and died but I didnt want to get any more until I had worked out what i'm doing!) and Dotty, the big gold spotted plec.

I LOVE puffer fish, my local LFS has figure 8 ones and I adore them - I asked about salt water and they said theirs have all been fine without but that if they're looking a little unhappy you can add a small measure of salt. Would my plec and corys be ok with that? I have read that they're brackish so i'm not sure what to think!

Any help or advice would be appreciated :)
Thanks guys!

Also, if anyone lives in Essex and would like my juvenile parrots :( I want them to go to a good home!!!

I'd fill out your schools first. What size tank is this? Temp and pH?

I believe the figure eights are brackish. Seriouslyfish will have the answer. The pleco and they corydoras won't appreciate the salt, neither will the rasbora.

Ok, so more harlequin rasboras? It is 120 litres. Temp I think is 26 or 28, and pH I am not sure of!!
Thanks for your reply :)

More rasboras and more of the corydoras. They both need at least six. You could do around 12 of the rasboras, I'd think.

I am very new to fish-keeping myself, but from what research I've done so far for my own tank I would recommend for sure getting 3 more cories to round out the group. As atti said, don't add salt with the pleco or the cories.

I was actually looking into the figure 8's as well!! They can do freshwater or brackish, according to SF, and make sure to keep just one in a tank your size. The rasboras are actually supposed to do well with them, or barbs, which was what I was considering.

Here's the SF link: http://www.seriouslyfish.com/species/tetraodon-biocellatus/

Thanks everyone! Anyone else got any info about if a figure 8 would be ok in my tank? :) x

Imo figure 8 puffers should be in a species only tank, they can be quite aggressive towards other fish especially corys as they're sitting targets on the bottom
