Some strange acclimations

I must say that i agree with bunjiweb on the captive hybrid statement. I think its dangerous and we should not be playing god with creatures that we cannot tell how they will develope as time goes by. Look at the Caulerpa strain that found its way back into the ocean after being "developed" by scientists. Now its killing everything in the med sea and has no natural predators :/

The same can be said for hybrid species in a marine system.. Should one of these fish get back into the ocean it could do alot of damage out there. Whilst we do get hybrid species in the ocean that naturally occur, i feel its best left to change and the whim of mother nature.

ghost shrimp are brackish, I have been acclimating and gut loading ghost shrimp for over a year now as feeders for my tanks.

Im sorry everybody, I did go a little overboard. :*) My mother tells me I do it all the time, and id have to agree :*) . I am only 13 after all. I do not dislike any of you. And im sorry Christs Knight, that part wasn't totally directed at you, even though it kinda seemed like it was. The truth is, I had lost a wee bit of faith in you guys :( , but for the most part, that was regained today. :) Id have to admit, I was being a real dick. :*)

As for the betta, I can assure you that he is free fom my terrifying "experiments". I soon placed him in a tank with many friendly guppies. :) He enjoys chasing them, and he comes to see me whenever im in the room, :D and he has a growing supply of fresh new babies to eat  .

I hope that you all accept my apologies :D Chestnut Moray 55

and P.S., I didnt know ghost shrimp were brackish. I really like these animals, could you tell me how to acclimate them to saltwater? :)

Keep an eye on your betta, they dont tend to like guppies because they confuse them for small male bettas, thus want to fight/kill them.

I think its time for a "group hug" !

Yeah....... :D

This one time one of my bettas fought this guppy.... poor thing didnt know what the hell was going on!
This one seems much more gentle though, so I guess its just the nature of the betta that defines its compatability. :)

:)

i am happy i didnt start fish with a betta.... to me they r like goldfish.
But my mate did, and he fed guppies to it.
Ate them instantly...

Nav, the group hug was swell, but whos hand was that on my butt? When I first came to this forums I recall a member who aclimated a type of SW fish to FW, but I also remember them having significantly shorter lifespans.
