Simply brilliant pics :)

Love the blueish footprint of these snails.

Your water params must be good if these snails are happy and breeding, good going ;)

I cant claim that my water is paticularly good, I suspect that the snails where already pregnant when I collected them. But at least they havent died in the time I have had them nor have have they wondered out of the tanks which they can easily do. Even the nerites that I converted from salt/ brackish to fresh have stayed put in my open topped tanks.
I am having a bit of a hard job at the moment with all these babies, since we had to dismantle one of the tanks to catchout all the subadult bristlenoses, that meant removing all the plants, timber and ornaments. Now the tubs that held the various things I took out of the tank I am having to go through to find any  wayward baby snails. So far I have found 4 and put them back into the tank. My husband has trouble telling the baby notopala snails apart from baby ramshorns so it looks like I am going to have to be the sole snail finder.

Would have thought telling ramshorns from notopala either babies or juveniles would be pretty easy, even for a novice.

But good luck with the ongoing project.

When the babies are both roughly the same size it can be hard to tell them apart, the only way I am certain is by how the shell is developing. The ramshorns will have an upright spiral while the notopala babies will have a slightly sideways spiral making them look flatter.
What I will find really interesting is if all the babies end up with yellow shells and pale bodies or if they also get the dark shell and dark bodies like some of the adults. I am really hopeful that these guys give the MTS a run for their money and help remove much of what the MTS generally thrive on. If I could get just one tank MTS free I would be a happy person.
Oh and on a side note it appears that even though Borneo Suckers are a loach they seem to be snail safe.
