Some photos of my hi-tech / hi trouble tank What do you think? And yes, there is algae, but at least not a bad kind haha. I have tried everything (as per hundreds of previous posts) but i guess it looks ok as is.

nice pics...clean those Koralias and prune those melting leaves, they won't be helping your algae problem

I would love for the rocks to be free of algae! They are blue granite, so will look amazing! But no such luck so far!

The large blue discus are about 6 inch + so cost £60 each. The one which is peppered was £40 as its around 5 inch, and a bit mixed up lol. The three small ones are about 3 inch. I think they may be stunted! But got the 3 for £50 as a guy was closing his tank!

them 3 little uns dont look stunted but just a bit mal-nourished. id try moving them somewhere less planted for now and give them loads of clean water and frequent feedings. id also treat for worms aswell cos that one in the 4th pic looks like it may have an internal problem. other than that their shape and eye proportions arent too bad.

the larger ones look nice though, are they asian???

just out of interest...do you have a plec in there and are you just using normal tap water?

You got me worried about the 4th photo....but rest assured, it is just the photo! I can see where you get the idea from, but thankfully looks fine in normal view.

No pleco yet - i was trying to get a hold of a snowball, but n luck yet (without paying more for shipping than i would for the fish!). But i jsut posted another post about getting one of a couple which are on offer to me. Feel free to comment! - Pleco question

Up until now i have drained 50% water out, then added dech. then water. But as i have an RO system now for my breeding tanks, and dont have any dech. left, i am now (for last two weeks) adding RO water.

One of the small ones hides away from the others ALL the time! He comes out to eat, but then goes back into the plants! I think your idea is good. I have a 60L i could put them in and beef them up a bit!

they is no wrong and right way of doing things just aslong as the fish seem healthy. have fun with them you have a nice set up there!!!

Rorie, if you could source a couple of baby Bristlenoses, then go for them. They will clean the rocks, tanks and everything else with 2 days. Even if you decide to rehome them at a later date. There is nothing that keeps a tank clean like a baby BN. Ones around 1.5-2" will be best as they're safe from the other fish, but are hungry for algae as they want to grow as fast as they can. Any tougher algae though will need removing by hand i'm affraid.

Just my luck - i have a tank next door with about 10 1 to 2 inch bristlenose! a few of them will be getting shifted today then haha!
