Soooo, last night I was giving these guys their black worms when I noticed a very full nest in the smaragdina tank. Today we have fry Just what I needed...more smaragdinas
So, I'm leaving them in the community tank with the other pairs and the parents. There's tons of leaf litter to stay beneath, let's see what happens.

Maybe my mahachai next door will want to try,too.

This is interesting. I watched last night but the water was so dark I couldn't *really* tell exactly what was going on. I noticed the female up there with him and the fry, I couldn't tell if she was helping though. He kept wagging, but I couldn't tell if he was fliriting OR trying to shoo her away, she wasn't leaving either way! I did see her going after fry and going backup to the nest, but it was too hard to tell whether she spit or not, most likely yes.
