Some Of My Fish. Video Link

thanks folks. the camera is just a little samsung es57 10.2 mp but instead of zooming in I was around 6 inches from the tank.

currently in the tank are the RTBS and a mix of green tiger barbs and normal tiger barbs. No rainbows.

Only problem i;m having is that my pH is steadily creeping up. tap water is 7.4 but over the last 3 days it has crept up to 8.2 now. I have removed the rocks and am going to get a proper tank ornament cause i was advised that the rocks are sedimentary and can therefore increase pH. we shall see.

any other ideas. can't get ammonia below 0.25ppm though it isnt going above that.

RTBS are also called rainbow sharks just for ya info :p

looks very fun to watch tho with all those active nippy dudes :)

sorry folks. I didnt know about RTBS also being known as rainbow's. I stand corrected. I think the RTBS is female cos she has a silver belly. can see it when she swims vertically up the side of the tank.

I am quite sad that I have had to remove the rocks. firstly they look nice and secondly the fish love the cover. Until I get more ornaments and plants they are going to be more exposed. It may bring them out of themselves tho.

Hopefully when I get paid on tuesday I can get some more plants and perhaps a new shelter for them.

i know some people use slate if you prefer the natural rock look. I don't think slate raises the pH.

the rocks are what came with the tank when purchased from the LFS. I love the rainbow effect rock and this passed the 'vinegar test' as did the larger rock on the left. However the right rock fizzed a little so I have consigned that to the window ledge. Am looking at getting some mopani bogwood for the tank and perhaps doing a combo of mopani wood and rocks. certainly cheaper than getting actual ornaments. SDC11563 resized.jpg
