Here are some of my eels. I'll update or add extra posts if I manage to get photos of the shy ones or better photos.
2 years old, 29cm. Quite sure it's Mastacembelus armatus, although if so "he" is very small for his age.
6 months, 12cm approx. Peacock eel of some type. Notice the red fringe around his tail and subtle vertical stripes.. none of my other peacocks have that.
Here is another when I first got him back in 2006. Nowadays it rarely lets me take its photograph.
Currently he sits at around 24cm long, and as you can see it's the most common species of Spiny Eel, the Peacock Spiny Eel.
I'd love a Fire eel alas they are almost impossible to come by around my part of Australia and when found fetch prices well out of my budget
