lil background-
30g has 3=C.macrops-1"
3=t.brichardi-only 1 over an inch the rest are just under
2=orange mustax-he he they're tiny-maybe 1/2"
1=alto sumbu dwarf-1/2"
29g had 1=n.pulcher-3"
1=n.nigriventrus-3" maybe more
1=black calvus=1" and some change
1=alto comp,gold -1" and some change
ok-the 30g is now temporarily holding my rope fish and black ghost knife,so now i'm minus that tank.the 29g will be my grow out tank it now houses the mustax,sumbu dwarf,t.brichardi and soon it will hold most of the fish i just ordered from CM :D well that leaves me w/the 90g which now has all the fish from the 29g in it along w/the macrops.ok-here's my prob the pulcher (since the move)has gotton really nasty and is attacking the macrops and i'm sure he'd kill the others.my only options are to drill a few holes into an acrylic box(the ones lfs have to tranfer fish)and hang it inside the tank.lol will this work?if so,how long.

lol sorry guy's,i didn't finish my post.i meant to say drill the holes and keep the pulcher and nigriventrus in it til the others are more comfy.i have 2 acrylic boxes one is 8"x4x9 and the other is over 15"long x 5 x10.

btw-if i don't respond to any replies it coz i left work,i may not see this til tonight or tomorrow

It'll work,but VERY TEMPORARILY!!!!!!!!!!

You might also want to place an airstone in each of these holding tanks as well. Your fish are not going to be happy, but they should survive.

When you feed them make sure they are eating and remove any left over food from the containers. If they don't eat then you may have to find another alternative

How about a 10 gallon with a small sponge filter. Very inexpensive and does'nt take much space!!

i forgot to mention that i burnt out 2 heaters during the move,i ordered 2 more but they won't be here for a few days.
i have to do something soon coz one of the macrops now has half'a tail :-(

i should have organized this better,i have a habit of doing things backwards :blink:

i do have an extra tank 10g and laods of filters,gravel and stuff but i have no heater :/

Hate to say this, but you may want to consider giving up the pulcher.

I believe we spoke about the aggressiveness of this and the nigriventrus awhile ago.

I know this will be met with a "NO WAY", but it may be your only option.

Try the breeding box method first though. Most times, giving an aggressive fish a little "time out" does work to curb aggression.

When I was keeping S/C Americans and I would get a fish with an attitude I had a 20 gallon tank specifically for this prupose. I would place the aggressor in this tank for a few days and usually upon returning it to the main tank it would calm down!!

Give it a try and let us know what happens!!

NO WAY!!!!! :p

I was considering that option,i may give him to dave the guy buying most of those fish.
or when i get those heaters keep them in the 10g for a while,as far as the nigriv he don't bother any of the others-well as long as they stay away from his cave :/ i know i have to remove him as well coz of his size alone.

i'll keep ya posted.

UPDATE

well last night i got home and noticed my C.macrops were beatup pretty bad and the pulcher was still all over them so i got him out of there and put in all the others but of course my luck kicked in and my lil baby sumbu dwarf got his head stuck through a tiny hole in my net :-( i did manage to get him out but i don't think he'll make it,i had to grab him by the tail and carefully untangle him but he's sooo tiny i know i did more harm than good :X .

i was however very pleased to see that my n.nigriventrus got along great w/all of them,i mean he actually looked happy to see all the lil guy's swimming through his cave,i thought for sure if they got near him he'd chase them away but NOPE!! he was a perfect gentleman.
i'm hopeing this stays that way*crossing fingers*.

i'm not sure what i'll do about the pulcher,imo he'd win 1st prize anywhere(toot toot)yes that my own horn :p .

My N. Brichardi is going back to the store for that exact same reason. I can't put anything new in the tank because of her, unless it's 3 times her size. Any fish in the Brichardi complex tend to be more aggressive of the Tanganyikans. I've had her for 3 years now and as time goes by she just gets more and more aggressive. So out of my tank she goes.

the part i don't get is,why now? :unsure: i mean in the 29g he was fine but as soon as he got into the 90g :crazy: he went nuts.
he's back in the 29 til i can figure something out.
