Oh no those fish that doesn't pass my qualifications will be free in the river and let them breed there. Some of my locals here catch them and have them as pets.

Why not just ask people if they want a betta instead of putting them in a river where the males will fight and stuff?

Been doing this for morethan 6 years and kids are enjoying to catch them. Every thanks giving day and Christmas I give away Bettas for the kids.

One time I went to the river and was able to catch a neat Plakat.

I don't think males fighting would be a problem in a river. They have so many places to hide... of course they'll fight a little, but no fish is going to die to another fish, since they can swim away and hide in many many places. This is simply something that a small indoor tank cannot afford fish - complete and utter escape.

What are you talking about cracker? Those are way better pics than what I can come up with, with mine they are either to dark or the flash covers the fish or its to close or to far away that it turns out blurry.

I agree with Durbkat, your pictures are way better than most others. But I can understand how you want to get the best shot; I feel the same abot 99% of my pictures. Do you use a tripod? Even when a tripod is folded up, you have better grip of the camera and get much steadier shots. Or you can cheat and get a Panasonic Lumix camera; they have optical image stabilization which keeps the camera steady. I got mine for $250 and I now prefer it over my hubby's Nikon D70 SLR, because it's so easy and has a Leica lens... sorry, I sometimes ramble about cameras.

Ohhh that D70 is a dream camera. Mine is a Nikon coolpix 2100 it's an old 2MP cam. I want to get a better one but it's expensive. Instead of buying expensive cameras I'll better use the $$$ for buying tanks and fish foods lol.

What I especially like about your HMs Cracker is that there looks like there is enough fish to support the finnage and that is extremely important, at least to me. The finnage should compliment the fish, not overwhelm it. The fish must be able to move well. I see so many HMs that look like they can't move at all, or they can't support their tails and then swim funny.

Hi there.

I don't sell in AB and don't ship Bettas outside my country (because carriers here doesn't allow us to ship live fishes and if so it's really expensive). I do breed these Bettas and some of them are being sold to LFS and individual hobbyist. Also I give them away to my friends, kids and some students who doesn't have ample $$ to buy Bettas.

My way of rearing these Bettas is to condition them like my fighter Bettas, they have been to the dirtiest water and perpetual flaring, I do let them flare for like a day or 2 and keep them in a really dark place and the next day they will do Sun bathing lol so weird but it works for them.
