I have decided to replace the background plant at the back of my tank. This is Eleocharis Vivipara which, in my tank, with CO2, grows REALLY fast. I can cut it to half the height and within a week, its reached the surface of my water again, a good 18 inches.
This is really versatile - you can cut it at half height and then replant what you cut off.
I dont have any good photos of it though! Here you can see its potential when the filter output is right - i.e gentle leaning over. But that photo looks sparse. The next photo shows how dense it gets, but i am in the process of fixing my spray bar which is why its leaning over WAY too much.
It looks a little brown, but thats only dirt from my substrate. When i run it through water, its got a lovely green colour!
Let me know if your interested, how much you'd like. I bought it for £8 for a small amount.... but make me offers. Snail free. Super healthy tank (discus and rams spawning weekly just now!!
