Hey guys! I have a pretty big piece of driftwood - maybe 2 or 3 feet long. I want to put it in my tank, but it's too big to boil.
I have been soaking it in hot water for a couple days now..... is this all I have to do? (Until it sinks?)

Thanks in advance for any help! :good:

you best bet would be to either glue or bolt it to a rock of some sort. Depending on how long you want to wait for it to sink. Even put a rock on it in the tank. It can take a long time for driftwood to soak enough to sink. Just make sure it's fully submersed and keep adding as hot of water as you can.

will it fit in the dishwasher?? if so put it on a long hot cycle with no soap ( obv) and what i usedto do with large bits was take the bin bag out of the kitchen bin and chuck the wood in there fill it up with the garden tap and change a bit of the tannin stained water everday, but if its just the sinking your worried about just fill the bin/ or sim.. and forget about it for a few days :)

Okay, thanks! :good:
Will it alter your water stats or anything? Like I once heard that driftwood lowers ph...?

Btw, can I staple java moss and java fern to the driftwood? Or would the metal from the staples be bad for the fish/water?

Thanks! :good:

You can get a net sort of thing that is used for attaching it. If you can't get one of them trie the bags that oranges come in. lol :) They work just aswell! :)
