So Tomorrow It Is

There aren't any plecs or sharks now. And I surely hope the tigers will be there for much more than 6 months. The cycle will be complete in say two more weeks, then there wont be anymore ammonia or nitrate issues to such extent. Got hold of a government run water testing lab. Dont know whether they can do check on my aquarium water.
Regardless of the extent of the ammonia and nitrite issues, constant exposure will damage the fish over time. It will cut their lifespan down. All of the fish that were original to my tank died long before they should have. The difference between the fish I have now that are thriving, and my original fish, is that the ones I have now were never exposed to the problems and hardships of a fish-in cycle. I am sorry you are having a hard time in life, but is it right to torture the fish, just because you do not have the patience for a fishless cycle? There is no way to know how much longer you have in your cycle as different types of fish produce different levels of ammonia.

I would like to thank you for taking everyones advice into consideration. It's nice to see people who ask questions to the more experienced, and blow them off because you don't like the answer. Good luck with your tank :)

You can buy home testing kits very cheaply online. I'd recommend you doing this, as you're going to need to test at least once a day.

As for two weeks, dream on! I'm almost six weeks into my fishLESS cycle, and fish-in cycles nearly always take longer.

I'm sorry, but I get the feeling from you that you don't really care about the welfare of your fish, or at least don't care enough to look after them properly.

+1...after the hardships of my fish-in cycle (i didn't research unfortunately) I did a fishless cycle on my 40g that they moved to. I never have issue with that tank, and the fish that have died in the tank were the ones that went through the fish-in cycle. All others are flourishing.

where is the betta?? please tell me its not in there with tiger barbs...

See you guys dont need to say sorry or anything, you guys are much experienced and you have the right to be rude because I believe elders have the right to teach amateurs the correct way. .
The only problem is that there aren't any test kits available nearby and its expensive on ebay. So I will try getting the water tested and will get it sorted soon. And laura there isn't any betta with them. I did my research and I already know how aggressive tigers can be. Dont worry guys things are improving and they will get even better, just let me get hold of the test kits Ok. I respect and appreciate your care and am willing to do my bit always.

you arent listening Crunch..you cannot keep those barbs in your tank.. it is too small, no amount of testing can tell you that. Rather than assuming what you can put in there, ask the ppl who know..the guys on here...
doa fishLESS cycle and then add some neons, thats about all that would be apropriate.

if you had done proper research you would know you should be doing a fishless cycle and that you cannot keep tiger barbs or a pleco in that tank. also, tigers should be in large groups at least +7. where is the betta now then???????

where is the betta now then???????

This.

This thread is insufferable, but I keep coming back for more!
It is...but we are getting somewhere I think. Even though we are now dealing with a SMALL fish tank, we are beyond the woes of a fruitbowl :p

You can certainly understand those who think that Crunch is a troll.

Happy birthday, Dieses, by the way. :cake:
Thank you, Lock Man. I don't think that crunch is trolling, I think that they are new to the hobby but unwilling to accept criticism. I came to this site a few months ago to find out that I was doing A LOT wrong, and yes it was irratating hearing about everything I was doing wrong, as I thought i had things under control, and I was feeling really stupid when it came to fish. But, I had to make the choice every newbie does, and decide whether or not to listen to the more experienced. Thankfully I chose correctly and took everyone advice as gold, and I have thriving communities because of it. But I guess not everyone will listen...

Is either a troll or on vast quantities of drugs if you ask me, having been through his posting history

Lets not judge people please, lets keep the thread helpfull, if the op choose not take advise thats up to them. I assume english id not their native langauge and are in a country where fish products are expensive. If there nothing helpfull to post lets keep it to ourself hey :good:

happy b'day di :good:
