well thought i best share my recent experiances too. seams im not the only one having a slight struggle and not even pin pointing why/how things got how they did.
first of all, all fine in my 3 boys tank in the morning, fish raced to top of tank for food as they always do. but things took a very funny turn that night.
my blue/purple vt boy was found bobbing around on his side swimming in circles, he had somehow very quickly got in a very bad way. seriously shocked me as he was fine that morning, so took him into QT tank straight away, and after 3 days he is quickly making a good recovery, he has gone to the mans room alot, i have been feeding him and fasting him and giving them all peas just as i always do, but obviously wasent working for him funny as i really do not over feed either?
yellow VT in the same tank fine, nouthing at all wrong with him.
but the next day my first ever combtail boy wasent really acting normal,kept sitting on the bottom doing nouthing, would come up for food but that was it. almost like he kept sleeping all the time, took a long time to wake him anyway !
took him into a QT tank aswell, seamed ok, next morning he had passed away, no signs of illness, nothing at all. he had always had alot bigger fins etc then the rest of his body and his body lengh had always been very short , tbh i think he had somthing wrong with him, he never grew although his fins etc would, but never got skinny nor fat, i cant even look at pictures of this guy, gutting tbh along with my PK male they were the 2 first fish i ever had.
Blue VT is doing very good now though, swimming around has returned to normal, Yellow VT still no signs of any illness or problems, so hopefully it was just one of those things, strange as dident ad anything new, i do very regular water changes, cleaning etc.
does test how much i like doing this as a hobby, only so much you can take with it before you really start to question yourself.
