I went to the lfs and and came bak wiv a spiny eel hes sooo kewl i finnaly get to post in dis section now too yay um can i get some comments on how frigen kewl they are!! TY OMG OMG OMG YAY YAY YAY

I just named him:bacon cuz we had breakfast at the same time we got him. I red u must give em live food all i can offer is frozen blood worms but i tink hes to small 4 live food so he will have 2 live with frozen.

Do you know what kind of spiney eel you have?? I have a trye-track named Chuck and he/she's just super!! Is your eel taking foods well?? I've heard they can be fickle to eat at first... Mine has been super spoiled from day one, eating only live foods. He's pretty small but has no problem taking blackworms, fry, and ghostshrimp!

How big is your tank balas? If the one in your profile is right, a 60litre tank wont be enough. Especially as he grows. They need a minimum 3-4ft PLUS tank IMO

My eel loves frozen foods, but he relishes live! Its better if you can feed a variety for a healthy fish. try to buy some next time your at your lfs.

What sort is he? There are a variety of species. 3 which are most common. They are Peacock spiny eels, tire track eels, and fire eels. Peacocks grow smaller than the latter, but still recquire alot of room once they grow older. Once at a reasonable size they will eat your smaller fish.

That looks like a tiretrack eel to me. They recquire alot more space, and grow very large.

its definatly NOT a tyre trak eel i had a frend wiv me dat keeps lots of em so i definetly was not 1v ill post a pic once he is out of his hiding spot

Thats definately a peacock eel and not a tyre track, though if your tank is a 60 litre it is too small, a 100 litre tank would be the minimum and thats pusing it for size.

Well my EXPERIENCE with them is that they dont like small tanks and if they feel crowded they will attempt to leave the tank by jumping out of any gap they can find, no matter how small.

But since you seem to have a problem accepting any advise you are offererd unless it suits what you want to hear you can get stuffed
