I'm going on my 6th Snowboarding holiday in a couple of days.
Does anyone else here ski/snowboard?

I mainly go to France/Switzerland, but did go off to Canada. THis year I'm going
to Serre Chevalier, I went there last year too. Anyone been there?

It's great fun, I can't wait. There's lots of fresh powder snow where we're going,
should be amazing for Snowboarding.

Anyone know of paticulary good resorts for boarding?

why anyone wants to hurtle down a mountain on a bit of fiberglass is beyond me.
I suppose it is for the same reason some people want to throw themselfs out of a perfectly good airplane
(if is is not crashing, stay in it!) :S

yeah just got into snowboarding this winter, got my front carves sorted and my back carves. its amazing fun, we just go to aviemore, which hasn't had good snow so far. the best was at the weekend just past.

I am supposed to be going to france this year, cant wait.

I HATE the winter. Summer is my time to have some fun. Throw me on my stand up jet ski and I am set for life. Snow is so... overrated! Plus chicks have to bundle up instead of striping down :D Summer wins!

i love snowboarding, i go about 3 times a month if i have the money lol its great fun i guess you can call me a addict. snowboarding or skiing is like a drug once you have done it its hard to stop!

Been boarding for 6 years now...

Off to Val Thorens in 2 weeks time !!

I started boarding in the US when out there with work... NorthStar Tahoe and Heavenly... neither of them come close the Val thorens...
I love being able to walk down stairs strap the board on and go :) you can even board throught the town to eat :)

Its not about the speed for me... that hurts when it goes wrong :D
Its about the freedom and fresh air!!
Get the last lift to the highest point you can, sit with a few friends and wait for everyone else to head down and enjoy the off peist powder in silence.
Cant beat the open slopes :)
Living in MK we have a real snow indoor slope on the door step - haven been over there for about 3 years now! too busy and cramped most the time.

val thorens sounds awsome smithrc, Was back up at Aviemore last week (monday) was really busy which is a bit annoying, people who aren't even skiing or boarding go up to have a look and get in your way, folk take their flaming dogs with them as well lol, nightmare.

Was good snow though but it didn't last long  nailing my front carves finally. :good:

hey smithrc I went to val thorens this year also just got back on 24th march, it was amazing. where did you stay, I was in the temp du soliel at the bottom of the town, went out a few nights to baramix (mental) all you can drink for 25 euros and also to the malaysia bar (scary bouncers lol) and the moo bar was good too. We went boarding all over down to meribel and les menuires. our apartment looked right onto the board park with the half pipe on it.

Val thorens sounds awesome, I should go there!

I know exactly what you mean, it's great after weeks of work, to strap on your board and head down the slopes.
