Has anyone got any more detailed information about this plec I purchased last week from LFS?

I believe it to be Snowball Peckoltia LDA33? I asked the LFS to get me a Golden Nuggett and he came back with this saying it was a better buy.

I have no idea what he is, but he sure is beautiful :)

Nice fish whatever it is. I'd say you would need to see some clearer pictures, and if possible one of the mouth as dentition would be the best way to determine if it's a Hypancistrus or not.
Also with dorsal fin raised can sometimes help.

your fish is not a hypan its a LDA33 baryancistrus sp aka snowball plec
I'd say you are spot on there (excuse the pun). Info from Planet Catfish is HERE
Actually, the OP was given the right ID, which is good. It's quite a large fish - nearly 10" fully grown.

The L number is right - its an LDA33 (or L142 if you like)
The common name is the problem causer here - Its a "big whitespot" not a Snowball as such.

As Windy said - its a Baryancistrus :)

Slow growing but will get to about 10" eventually.
They are a very out going plec - we always see ours out and about
