Snow?!

What you talking about MBOU? Our snow is awesome!

For that 30 seconds where it does fall, its amazing!

Then instantly turns to brown slushy goop. And try not ne be overwhelmed and think its a good idea to catch it on your mouth..... tasted like pollution

haha thanks for the reply everyone! i was just totally curious cause i live in canada and its always E"fin snowing. so theres always fresh snow. maybe ill test it out with a kit and check the perameters on it on day.

Since we are talking snow... I am Canadian living in London. Was talking to a few people I don't really know yesterday about coping with snow. The one lady turned to me and said "We just don't have chains on our tires so we can't get around when it snows." (Snows, means dusting of snow, in my Canadian opinion! LOL). I turned around and said... "No one uses chains on their tires unless they are farmers in the middle of nowhere." Can you imagine how chewed up the streets would be if everyone had chains on their tires? I found that hysterical. The rest of the conversation was equally stupid.

Where I live, people have no idea how to drive on snow... Its sad, but people have either too much fear, or not enough respect on our roads... I try to stay off the roads when there is snow, not because of the snow, but because of the other people on the road.

In different parts of the US there are different responses to snow - I live in "the salt belt". We use rock salt on all major surfaces when it snows so that idiots on the roads only have wet conditions, not ice/snow. Further north, they just plow to remove the accumulation - and further south, they declare a state of emergency for a 'dusting' as you describe. Florida got hit with a freak snowstorm a few years ago... They shut down for about 2 days while they called in plows from other states and waited for it to melt!

When I lived in Winnipeg my family did have a fabulous time laughing at the tv when American news would cover "huge snow storms" that were usual for us and how debilitated people were. I never knew people were even worse than that over here in the UK/London. LOL I am also starting to think that "keep calm and carry on" doesn't apply to British people and weather... as not all that many people I know know how to carry on with snow!

Oh, that's another thing from that conversation yesterday. The lady said to me "It's not like we have snow plows and all that here." With the level of snow we get in London... if we got that in Canada no one would even think of a snow plow being necessary! HAHA

I always drive in the snow. I have two young kids so if I need nappies I need em, just have to brave it. At the end of the day if you are smart, avoid steep hills, and have a 4wd, you can get around. It's not like it's knee x deep!
