Soon i will be entering the real world that we people like to keep in our rooms. My school is taking some of the students out to the Keys and allow them to snorkle around and see the marine life. I havint noticed anyone posting anything here about their snorkling trips with pictures or information, so i thought i could maybe be the first one to do so. Next week i will be taking off to John Pennikee State camp to snorkle around one of the largest reef areas in the keys. I am hoping to collect some small coral but i believe the area is protected  I will be taking a water-proof camera and posting pictures. Hopefully the water will be clear and everything goes to plan! I will keep everyone posted.

It isn't the first time someone has gone snorkeling and taken pictures to later upload here! :good: I think Lynden, Ski and SH all have gone somewhere and posted images of their trips. Dont know if thats 100% right though. Id love to see more anyway! :hyper:

I was gonna take some pictures, but before I knew it, I was absorbed by the reef and was transformed into a fish. Then, being a fish, I no longer knew what a camera was. I only reverted after I left Hawai'i six days later.

Get those pictures up, wflash! Did you encounter any Green Morays?

no but my teacher said she saw one, but i did see a school of baracudas and i also saw a sting-ray. (RIP Steve) But those i couldint get a picture of, too fast for me =[

Would love to scuba dive in the keys but am going to oz for a few months to dive on the barier reef and whitsundays ect (hard life i know) but dont think I will get away with taking any coral, besides have to be real careful about what you touch down there, upon my return will post pics if any come out decent or that i can alter to remve the blue which is all you seem to get at depth, if any of you want to experience the real world of fish you should get to Egypt an absolute dream to dive with alsorts of fish i've never seen anywhere else least ofall the sharks there!!!!!

I've been fortunate....haven't gone in awhile but I got in some great dive trips. One of my best trips was to Fiji...Matagi Island. They have red, yellow, purple and white walls. It was there that I saw my first giant clam....at least a foot and a half across. I never believed how beautiful a clam was.....purple irridecent colors across the mantle.

Looking forward to seeing your pix. SH

yeah get some pics up for sure!

i'm hoping when we move to canada we can learn to dive then were not all that far away from florida and can go on a diving trip (hint hint ski :D ;) )

oooh in fact, Ian was after something to get me for my birthday, how much are diving lessons?

Dunno about in the UK but here its about $150 for the class, and totalling out around $300 for equipment rentals if you need them.

Cool! A different seascape entirely from Big Island Hawai'i's coast. I notice that fish like snappers seem to dominate in Florida. I'll have to see for myself one day. :mama:
