:shifty: I was too scared to post these thinking you guys might be too squeamish but now that you have seen far worse!!

Snakes eating absolutely fascinates me, the way they eat and their mouths stretch and the way they use their teeth to jaw walk the rodent down their throat... how each snake with its own personality, will eat differently! Some strike and swallow it quickly, some take it gently, some need to strangle it first (even though its already dead!).. and so on..

All my snakes eat F/T (frozen thawed) though i did once have a snake that would only eat live, by law i shouldnt have fed her live but by law i couldnt starve her. Took a year and a half to get her to eat F/T and she only eat 3-4 times in that 1.5 years! Though i also had a bull snake that went just over a year without eating at all! He went into brumation and despite warming him up, he wouldnt ever eat, he got so emaciated and even force feeding ended up in him regurgitating. I think he got tube fed something at some point (liquid) to keep him alive but when he finally took a F/T gerbil i cried!! Withinn 2-3 months he was in great condition and eating like a horse and sold on (to someone who new his history of course!).

Anyhoo... photos!!

George, Cali King Snake (this devil was an emaciated rescue and escaped only to turn up very fat and happy next door... 11 months later!! she had a few mouse bites on her but thats it!)

Cuddles, Bull Snake (he is an absolute babe! he gets handled at talks by little kids as he is so well behaved and he is a bit of a dustbin! at 5.5 -6ft he will eat anything from leftover pinkies to left over rats!)

The BEST snake in the world!!! Flower, Leucistic Texas Ratsnake! (evil little #29###!! my first snake, deliberately got one that would bite me to get me over my fear, definately worked, bit me every time i got her out, even got my face on several occasions..) I adore her and would give anything to have her back!

lovely snakes!! no blood though lol was that in reference to my pics lol

I've been looking into the kings and milk snakes I may get one of those in near future once I've got the Boa I;m after

beautiful snakes. i will post my pics of "Susan B. Anthony" my late reticulated python asap. RIP

I want to get a snake (one day) What would you feed the smaller ones? Surely they couldn't fit a mouse in. Or am i being dim.

Lol Simonas, yeah was your royal and its blood stained dinner, made me laugh, the number of times i had snakes strike feed and they struck so hard it made the mouse or rat explode LOL gross!

I hate Cali Kings, i really do, they are ALL evil at heart, if they are nasty when young, they will end up that way. Milk snakes are stunning and i would love to have another, friendly and easy to handle and yet not so common like king snakes!! There is a gorgeous colour morph of the Milk Snake by the name of 'Apricot' Pueblen Milksnake (i think) its yellow band was peachy orange instead. I prefer to find something unusual. You should look out for a Reptile Show mate! You can pick up things like hatchlnig corns/texas/milks for £15 - £20 instead of them retailing at £50 - £70 in shops! Geckos... i picked up a Super Hypo Tangerine for £25 when i've seen them retail at £75!! Their is usually a show in Essex, cant remember any others!

The splodgy dinners are Rat Pups LOL and Kellog was chomping down a Gerbil. At that point we kept and bred our own rodents, we did a lot of showing too (yes... yes they do have shows for rodents LOL) and unfortunately that gerbil just snuffed it, looked like a stroke to be honest, not diseased, fresh and good food. Gerbils were always for breeding, not pets though.

Smaller snakes eat younger mice or rats, the sand boa ate pinkies at that size and Flower the Texas Rat ate Fuzzy Mice and the Young Boas at that size... well... she was a non feeder to be honest, the few meals she did have were rat pups or baby multimamate rats.

:-( they looked like other puppies for a brief moment

i couldnt do that = [ i even get upset with my fish when they eat their dead tank mates if we have any = [

I once had a snake who preyed on guppies. He moved onto goldfish but he died 3 months after.

not surprised if its main diet was fish... :S

my sister had a corn snake EXACTLY the same as that one above, and she named her Harriet lol

at feeding time she would curl up, to the mouse we had to HANG above her head using a pair of tongs, and she would snap and grab it, ALWAYS made me jump lol

A snake eating a fish!! are you sure that the snake you'r talking about is NOT an eel? you rarely see land snakes go into water to eat fish unless it's a sea snake. Even the mighty anaconda can eat fish but dosn't want to. we would like to see pics of your snake.......... :good:

Those are stunning snake pics. I liked the corn snake... it looks so fimiliar to mine!!
