Snakehead identification

Hi everyone. First post here.
After recently getting back into tanks I was given a snakehead. Previous owner can't remember the specifics but has had it for around 5 years. It measures about 9 inches and overnight has started turning from greyish with brown spots to blue and orange but the pictures don't really show it off too well. Hoping someone could help suggest what type it might be and maybe even the gender. Thanks

That would be a Channa Pulchra.

If it is it doesn't look good at all. Used to keep and breed Pulchra but that is a very faded out looking fish

Fish is probably stressed. Right eye looks cloudy in both pics.
