ok, my tropical tank is being overrun by snails that came in on my live plants. I do not want to add salt to this aquarium so that's not an option to get rid of them.... They are pretty tiny right now, do you think if i put them in the tanks with my boys that they would eat them? My mollie knocks them off the tank wall with her nose, but won't eat them. I've gotta do something before they completely take over, like they did my grandpa's tank that I do all the work on.

I dont think your bettas will eat them. If you want to get rid of them get a clown or zebra loach. They will eat the snails.

Nah, just stick a piece of lettuce on a saucer and put it in the tank overnight. In the morning, most of the little guys will be on the lettuce, where you can safely remove it from the tank. Or get a dwarf puffer. They LOVE baby snails, and they're perfect for grinding down the beaky teeth they have. Definitely not good to put in with your bettas, though.

I'd just go for the lettuce.

Ok, I'll do the lettuce thing. Would they be ok tankmates for each of my boys? I know a lot of people on here have snails with their bettas. Would that be ok? That way i can get rid of 11 snails without killing them. I'm softhearted  or would they cause more mess than good?

Ok I guess I'll just get rid of them all then :/ B/c I already have my hands full cleaning 11 tanks, and I don't need a dirty little snail causing more mess. Thanks for all your help. Now back to cleaning everyone.... only a couple more hours to go hehe! :fun:
